Scholarship Programs
The Hagerstown Community College Foundation, Inc. raises
funds in support of the programs and activities at HCC. Annually,
and per semester, the Foundation provides financial support to HCC
students through scholarship funds that have been established over
the years by generous supporters of the College - individuals, businesses,
corporations, foundations, alumni, employees, and retirees of the
College. Grants range in size from approximately $500 to $900, per
semester, and help with tuition costs.
A variety of scholarships exist within the Foundation each with
its own criteria. No scholarship is awarded to a student taking
less than six credit hours. Dependency criteria are the same as
federal financial aid guidelines.
Hagerstown Community College does not discriminate against any
individual for reasons of race, sex, color, religion, national or
ethnic origin, age or conditions of handicap in its scholarship
award program.

need-based and merit-based. Foundation general scholarships are
need-based. However, there are several named endowed scholarships
and the Faculty/Foundation Scholarship for Academic Excellence,
funded by faculty and staff, which are merit-based.
