ART-220 Advanced Ceramics
Discipline:
Art (ART) This is an advanced course to help students develop a personal aesthetic in clay through construction techniques, surface treatments, and technical information. This class will have students pushing idea limits, refining skills, understanding the behavior of ceramic materials and processes, while creating an original and personal vocabulary in clay. Students will take an expanded approach to artistic issues of the medium, design elements and presentation of their work. Identifying and creating an independent artistic direction, and focusing their efforts accordingly, are the goals for the semester’s body of work. Course fee required. Total of 60 hours of lecture. Prerequisite: ART 120. Semesters offered: Fall, Spring, Summer. 3 Credits.
