HST-201 Understanding Diversity in the Helping Profession
Discipline:
Human Services (HST) This course helps students to develop an appreciation and awareness of human diversity. Students are encouraged to examine their own values, beliefs, culture, attitudes, and biases. Special emphasis is placed on how effective helpers use their understanding and sensitivity of human diversity in their work with people. The concept of cultural competence is introduced and encouraged. Total 45 hours of lecture. Prerequisites: HST 103 and PSY 201. Semester offered: Fall. 3 Credits.
