MAT-109 Introduction to Statistics
Discipline:
Mathematics (MAT) A study of modern statistical analysis enhanced with appropriate technology is presented for use in business, education, social sciences, and natural sciences. Included in the course are fundamental ideas and applications of descriptive topics, basic probability, the binomial and normal distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, regression, and chi-square tests. Students will be expected to use online homework and tutorial programs. This course is not open to students who have successfully completed MAT-119. Total of 45 hours of lecture. Prerequisites: MAT 100 or appropriate score on placement test or consent of math department. Semesters offered: Fall, Spring, Summer. 3 Credits.
