MUS-171 Fundamentals of Music

This course covers the basic elements of music with an emphasis on the study of musical notation. Scales, modality, meter, principles of harmony and texture are studied. Aural skills are developed with practice in ear-training, sight-singing and simple dictation. Total of 15 hours of lecture. Semester offered: Fall. 1 Credit.
