PED-207 Lifesaving
Discipline:
Physical Education (PED) This standard American Red Cross class teaches lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Course fee required. 30 contact hours. Prerequisites: Tread water for two minutes using legs only; swim 500 yards continuously using each of the following strokes for at least 100 yards - crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke; submerge to a minimum depth of 7 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, and return to surface. Semesters offered: Periodically. 2 Credits.
