Program Literature
The Administration of Justice Program is the study of the system used by local, state, and federal government to maintain social control, enforce laws, and fairly and impartially manage decisions rendered by the courts. Students will learn about the interaction and relationship of the system’s three major components: law enforcement, corrections, and the judiciary system. Individuals hired to work within the criminal justice field assume positions such as police officers, deputy sheriffs, state troopers, correctional officers, private detectives and investigators, probation officers, bailiffs, correctional treatment specialists, security officers, and gaming surveillance officers.
The chart below offers the student guidance in planning for the program requirements for the Administration of Justice degree. This chart does not include General Education or Electives also requirements for the degree. This guideline is for informational purposes only and not a binding offer or contract between HCC and the student. The above information was reviewed for accuracy, but is NOT guaranteed and is subject to change as needed and with approval from the HCC Curriculum Committee.
