As a student in a health sciences program, you will learn the
specific responsibilities and skills of your chosen field. These
programs offer you an opportunity to enter the health care workforce.
Our degree programs offer students the opportunity to transfer to
a four-year college or university for additional studies.
*Admission Criteria – Degree Programs:
All of the health sciences degree programs have selective (not
open) admissions, and admissions are highly competitive due to limited
class sizes. Submit application by cutoff date.
- Submit official transcripts from other colleges attended.
- Grade point average of 2.5 or higher for all college course
work.
- Graduation from high school or completion of GED. (Some programs
have minimum age requirements.)
- Completion of college placement tests in mathematics, English,
reading, and science, and follow-up with indicated course work.
- For Nursing and Radiography applicants, completion of BIO 103
and enrollment in BIO 104 (Anatomy & Physiology).

- For Paramedic applicants, completion of PES 101 EMT Basic; PES
102 Introduction to EMS, and PES 103 EMS Practicum I, or equivalent
standards.
- An interview will be scheduled with those who complete the
above requirements by the deadline.
- Extra Expenses:
Health sciences programs generally require the purchase of the
following: uniforms, liability insurance, supplies, and a physical
examination by your health care provider including immunizations.
Deadline for application: Applicants are considered for
admission once each year. For nursing, the deadline is January 15th.
For radiography, the deadline is October 1st. For Paramedic Emergency
Services and LPN, the deadline is November 1st.
