| Students enrolled in a health sciences
program need to know that their classes and clinical schedules will
vary, and are likely to include evening and weekend hours. All students
enrolled in a health sciences program are required to provide their
own transportation to clinical experiences, which may occur at various
sites in the tri-state area.
Technical standards, i.e., motor and sensory abilities exist for
these programs.
Applicants to Health Sciences programs must be eligible to sit
for the respective licensing, or certification examination. Any
applicant who has a criminal record may not be eligible to sit for
the examination. Details vary by state and discipline.
The college has an academic amnesty policy, for students who have
not enrolled for a minimum of two years, and attempted no more than
32 credits with a GPA less than 2.0. Those students may be eligible
for academic amnesty.
Students who have been accepted for admission to a health sciences
program will be notified of the decision by mail. The offer of admission
is for the specified year only. The college is not responsible if
an applicant fails to report a change of address. Students who do
not gain admission must reapply the following year. The decision
of the admission committee is final.
Transfer Students/Advanced Standing: Students requesting advanced
standing must meet the academic requirements for admission, and
will be evaluated on an individual basis. Students transferring
from another similar program will be evaluated individually. Students
should discuss their situation with the program coordinator. |
