Certified Nursing/Geriatric Assistant
Letter of Recognition
This course prepares the student to effectively implement the nursing
care plan and care for client populations with health alterations,
utilizing professional standards of practice. Content includes disease
processes, systems review, nutrition and fluid balance and infection
control. The clinical experience focuses on skills competencies.
To be eligible for this course, the student must provide a driver’s
license or official identification, evidence of a negative TB test
taken within one year, or if the skin test is positive, the student
must produce a negative chest x-ray and current HeartSaver (adult/pediatric)
CPR card. Upon successful completion of this course, the student
will qualify to function as a certified nursing assistant and be
eligible to sit for the state exam for geriatric nursing assistant.
