Paramedic Emergency Services
Certificate
The paramedic emergency services program is designed for the individual
seeking a career as a paramedic. The curriculum consists of specialized
courses in patient assessment, emergency care, the pathophysiology
of disease, and the ethical and medicolegal concerns of today’s
paramedics. The program includes classroom, hospital, clinical and
field instructions and is based on the U.S. Department of Transportation
standards. Individuals successfully completing this program will
be eligible for recommendation to sit for the National Registry
of EMT Paramedic Examination. This program is competitive and will
be selected upon the following criteria: GPA, experience, personal
interview and application. Students enrolled in the paramedic emergency
services certificate program are required to meet the same academic,
physical and technical standards as students admitted to the paramedic
program. Students are also responsible for additional fees for specialty
courses (PALS, ACLS, BTLS) above the tuition cost.
