HCC’s Thornhill receives top PTK advisor award

HCC Associate Professor Loretta Thornhill recently received the Robert Giles Distinguished Advisor Award for her work as advisor of HCC’s Pi Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges.

HCC honors Kennell

On Wed., April 13, 2005, a special tribute was paid to a former student athlete at Hagerstown Community College. Mary Beth Kennell had her softball uniform number retired. Kennell played at HCC as a member of the softball team during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

Maryland’s poet laureate to speak at HCC

Michael S. Glaser, poet laureate of Maryland, will speak at Hagerstown Community College for the seventeenth annual Kreykenbohm Lecture, on Monday, April 11 at 7 p.m. in the Kepler Theater.

The Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College Center will offer its 12th Annual Seminar for Health Care Managers and Leaders, in celebration of Nurse Week, entitled “Creating a Positive Workplace: Finding and Keeping Tomorrow’s Workforce.”

HCC to offer “train the trainer” class

The Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College will offer a “train the trainer” course, entitled “Adult Education Skills for Health Care Professionals,” on four consecutive Tuesdays, beginning May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

HCC to offer spirituality in healing class

The Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College will offer “Spirituality in Healing” on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HCC Valley Mall Center.
