HCC honors academic achievement in year-end ceremony

HCC held its fourth annual Honors Convocation on Thursday, May 18, in the ARCC. The event recognized special awards, Phi Theta Kappa awards, graduation honors, Maryland Zeta Chapter of Lambda Nu for Radiologic Sciences awards, and dean’s list honors.

HCC’s truck driver training program helping address area need

While the U.S. Department of Labor expects employment in the transportation industry to grow 23 percent through the year 2012, the local need could be even greater, according to Bob Simmers, HCC's commercial vehicle transportation specialist.

HCC graduates 360 students

HCC held its 59th annual commencement on Sat., May 20, at 9:30 a.m. in the ARCC. HCC President Dr. Guy Altieri and members of the board of trustees presented 367 degrees and certificates before a crowd of more than 2,000.

Simmers hired for HCC’s truck driving program

Robert Simmers was recently hired as the commercial vehicle transportation specialist at Hagerstown Community College.

Nursing Academy at HCC this summer

HCC’s College For Kids summer program is offering a week-long Nursing Academy August 7 through 11 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on HCC’s main campus.

College For Kids watercolor class offered

HCC’s College For Kids summer program is offering a week-long course on painting with watercolors for children going into grades 6 through 8. The class will meet July 10 through 14 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on HCC’s main campus.

Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series

The Alumni Association recently announced the concert schedule for HCC’s Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series. All concerts are free, open to the public, and will be held in HCC’s alumni amphitheater.

HCC names 2006 Hall of Fame inductees

Hagerstown Community College recently held its 14th annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Four former Hagerstown Junior College student athletes and two athletic boosters were honored as the 2006 inductees.
