HCC to offer biotechnology program

Hagerstown Community College has been approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to offer certificate and degree programs in biotechnology, beginning this fall.

Guitar Orchestra concert slated for May 2

Hagerstown Community College’s Guitar Orchestra will perform a concert on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in HCC’s classroom building auditorium. The theme of the program is “Great Melodies” and will feature compositions such as “Habanera” from Carmen, Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” and more.

HCC Student Art Exhibit

The Hagerstown Community College Student Art Exhibit will be held Monday, April 30, through Friday, May 4, in the lobby of Kepler Theater. An opening reception will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the theater.

Drexel University NCLEX review class offered

HCC’s Center for Continuing Education is offering nursing students a four-day course to prepare for the NCLEX exam from Tuesday, May 22 through Friday, May 25, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the HCC Valley Mall Center.

Health care leaders seminar planned

HCC’s Center for Continuing Education, Washington County Hospital, and the Nursing and Allied Health Advisory Committee are sponsoring a seminar for health care leaders on Thursday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Robinwood Medical Center.

Brigadoon to be performed at HCC

Brigadoon,” written by Alan Jay Lerner with music by Frederick Loewe, takes place in a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every 100 years. The well-being of the village and its inhabitants is in jeopardy when two American tourists stumble upon the village by accident.

HCC students offer health awareness

LPN students from Hagerstown Community College will hold a two-day health education event for older adults at Homewood at Williamsport on Tuesday, April 24, and Wednesday, April 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Homewood’s Community Exercise Room.

New Driver Car Control Clinic

Hagerstown Community College is bringing the nationally acclaimed New Driver Car Control Clinic®, a hands-on, in-car accident avoidance and defensive driving skills clinic for teens and their parents to the Hagerstown Community College campus on Friday, April 27.
