HCC hosts annual Administrative Professionals Day event

HCC’s Administrative Professionals Day event is specially designed to encourage employers to reward the hard-working secretaries and administrative assistants that often form the backbones of their companies and corporations.

HCC professor published in Oxford Round Table’s Forum on Public Policy

HCC humanities professor Askold Skalsky was recently published in the Oxford Round Table’s elite journal The Forum on Public Policy.

HCC team joins annual MS walk

HCC academic advisor Monica Hutchins and her team Baby Steps 4 Mommy will be joined by students from HCC’s Student Government Association on the April 12 walk. Hutchins first formed her Walk MS team in 2004 and her team participates every year in Walk MS.

HCC offers summer courses in Italian

This is an introductory course in Italian that incorporates the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing through the method of total immersion. Students are encouraged to learn and speak from an Italian perspective. In addition, Italian culture will also be studied.

HCC show choir performs “Made in the USA” concert

The Superlatives’ performance will feature singing and dancing to a host of American classics from all musical genres and includes everything from blues to rock n’ roll. This concert is free, is suitable for all ages, and is open to the public.

HCC offers opera appreciation course

The course was first introduced by instructor Thomas Magruder 10 years ago and coincides with the spring 2008 opera season at the Lyric Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland. Students will attend two Saturday lectures on the campus of HCC before traveling to Baltimore for a Sunday matinee of the opera they’ve studied.

HCC offers annual College for Kids summer program

HCC’s College for Kids has been in existence since 1987 and now offers over 70 different courses to more than 700 students. Classes are taught by highly qualified teachers in a small class setting with an emphasis on hands-on learning experiences specially geared towards children going into grades one through ten.

HCC hosts UMUC legal studies speaker

UMUC faculty member Adelaide Lagnese will speak about the legal studies program at UMUC, and will discuss how current or prospective HCC students in the paralegal studies program can transfer to UMUC and complete the remaining courses necessary to obtain a bachelor’s degree.

HCC’s Executive Entrepreneurship Seminar Series continues

This spring, the TIC will offer the second part of its seminar series addressing the major issues which all entrepreneurs face, from starting their business to handling opportunities and challenges that come with growth.

Registered nurse case manager training program offered through HCC

HCC’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a training program for registered nurse case managers and/or delegating nurses in assisted living on Fri., March 28 and Fri., April 4, in HCC’s Valley Mall Center.
