HCC receives $672,696 NSF Grant

Short Title: 
National Science Grant

The funds will be used to develop a biotechnology educational pathway in Washington County that begins in the high schools and leads to a career in biotechnology or biomanufacturing in the regional workforce.

HCC will hold a press conference on the recently received National Science Foundation (NSF) grant for the Biotechnology Program on Thurs., Aug. 13, at 9:30 a.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 211 and 213. New initiatives in the Biotechnology Program, as well as grant monies recently received will be discussed. The public is encouraged to attend.

Senator Cardin visits campus

Senator Cardin visits campus

Senator Cardin will visit HCC's campus on Wed., Aug. 12, to hold a community open forum on healthcare reform. The forum will begin at 1 p.m. in the Kepler Theater and is open to the public. There will be no sign-up for speakers and it is a first-come, first-served basis on the microphone.

HCC will host the international theater group, CAST, on Fri., Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., in the Alumni Amphitheater. CAST will be performing, "Two Gentlemen of Verona," one of Shakespeare's most hilarious comedies.

Forensic Investigation: A Collaboration between Health Care Providers and Law Enforcement

This four-hour course will discuss the role of the health care provider and the forensic investigation team in the processing of a potential crime scene.  Information will be provided to help health care professionals identify suspicious situations where a forensic investigation may be needed and the appropriate steps to be taken.
