November 11, 2009 - 2:00pm - 2:30pm

HCC's Student Veterans Organization will hold a Veterans Day event on Wed., Nov. 11, beginning at 2 p.m., at the flag pole in front of the Learning Resource Center (LRC). The ceremony should last no more than 20 minutes.

HCC recently hosted nine community colleges from across the country for a two-day conference to share their experiences with a college mentoring program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Using a Patient-Center Approach in Providing Dementia Care

This full-day seminar will provide participants with information about how to develop a patient-centered environment for individuals with dementia.  A patient-centered approach focuses on redirecting resistant behavior in a positive manner which has shown to decrease aggressive/defiant behavior and help create a positive working environment for both patients and staff.  See the pdf file below.

Send your administrative profession for a day of learning, relaxation and fun sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Hager Chapter and Hagerstown Community College.  The program will include continental breakfast, vendor visitation, humorous / fun topics with valuable tips and lots of door prizes.
