This full-day course will present interventions, treatment approaches and practical strategies to help those living and working with children and adolescents who have been traumatized as a result of abuse, neglect, family violence and/or other major life experiences that have significantly disrupted their neurological, psychological and emotional development.

AAUW scholarship available for female students

Female students in high school who plan to attend Hagerstown Community College in 2010 or are currently students at HCC are eligible to apply for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) scholarship.

2010 Biotech Summer Institute

2010 Biotech Summer Institute
June 14, 2010 (All day) - August 9, 2010 (All day)

HCC’s biotechnology program began in 2007. The College held its first summer institute for high school students in 2009 and will hold the 2010 Biotechnology Summer Institute from June 14 through Aug. 9. Participating high schools students can receive seven college credits. Tuition and fees are free for qualified ESSENCE students. Application deadline is March 19, 2010.

Hagerstown Community College’s math and science division will a host a Biotechnology Open House on Mon., Feb. 1, beginning at 7 p.m., in HCC’s Career Programs Building, room 214.

Participants will have an opportunity to tour the biotechnology labs, learn about the summer biotech institute and discover internship and job opportunities available to students in the biotechnology program.

U.S. Air Force Recruiter on campus

MD Board of Pharmacy recognizes HCC program

HCC’s Pharmacy Technician Program was recently approved by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy. The 26-credit certificate program prepares students to work in retail and institutional pharmacies.

HCC Spring Transfer Fair

Washington County public school graduates who plan to attend Hagerstown Community College are eligible to apply for one of two $1000 scholarships from the Hagerstown Lioness Club. All applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2010.
