16 HCC students participate in Mission of Mercy

16 students in Hagerstown Community College’s dental assisting and paramedic emergency services programs recently participated in the Western Maryland Mission of Mercy (M.O.M.) event at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Md.

The HCC NOW (National Organization for Women) Club is sponsoring a Lunch n' Learn talk on Thurs., Nov. 18, beginning at 12 noon, in the Student Center.

Dr. Elaine Ashby, professor of biology and chemistry and coordinator of the pharmacy technician program at HCC, will give a talk entitled, "Birth Control in the 21st Century."

Lunch will be provided and both students and the public are encouraged to attend.

HCC adjunct instructor co-produces conservation film

Audra Haddock Martenot, an adjunct faculty member at HCC, has teamed up with Rob Owens, an independent filmmaker and the president and owner of Eagle Rock Productions, to co-produce the independent film, “One With Life.”

HCC reopens

HCC reopens - Staff on campus

Following Winter Break (Dec. 23 - Jan. 3), HCC will reopen on Tues., Jan. 4. Administrative offices will be open normal hours Tues., Jan. 4 through Fri., Jan. 7. Spring classes will start the following Monday on Jan. 10.

Scholarship geared towards single moms

Female students are eligible to apply for the Women’s Opportunity Award through Soroptimist International of Hagerstown if they have children and can claim head of the household on their tax returns. Deadline is Dec. 15.

Human Services Bake Sale

HCC Human Services students are holding a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center. Proceeds will contribute to the creation of a Fall Festival for the children who attend Memorial Recreation Center in Hagerstown.

HCC offers advanced photography course

Advance Photo Course Spring 10

This spring, HCC is offering a new photography course for advanced students who have experience beyond introductory level photography and digital imaging courses. Photography II (ART 215) will be offered on Thursdays, from 5:30 to 9:05 p.m., beginning Jan. 13.
