Hedge Apple Submissions Due Feb. 15

HCC's Literary Arts Magazine, the Hedge Apple, is currently seeking submissions from students, staff, and faculty. The Hedge Apple is also looking for a student art editor to oversee magazine artwork.

Submissions to HCC's Literary Arts Magazine, the Hedge Apple, are due Feb. 15. Submissions can include the following:

  • 3 to 5 poems
  • 1 to 2 short stories
  • 3 to 5 pieces of artwork

HCC students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to submit. Submissions should be sent electronically as attachments to hedgeapple@hagerstowncc.edu. Include your name and a brief bio with your submission.

Previously published works will be accepted; please provide previous publishing information (if any) when you submit.

Financial Aid Assistance Available for Students

The Financial Aid Office is offering free FAFSA Help Labs throughout the month of February. HCC also recently launched Financial Aid TV, which is available 24 hours a day, to answer student questions.

Public Safety Awards

The 2011 Public Safety Awards ceremony will take place on Friday, May 6 starting at 6pm. The event will be held in the Classroom Building Auditorium (CLR-111). Light refreshments will be provided. UMUC Transfer Day

UMUC Transfer Day
May 5, 2011 - 10:00am - 1:00pm

A transfer advisor from UMUC will be on campus to meet with interested students from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Valley Eatery (upper level, Career Programs Building). No appointment necessary.

The UMUC advisor will be on campus every Thursday from Jan. 27 through May 5 (except for Thurs., March 10 due to Spring Break).
