The HCC Public Information Office will hold its annual Casting Call for student models from April 8 through April 10 in the Student Center. Students of all ages are encouraged to stop by.

HCC will hold its annual Administrative Professionals Event on Fri., April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Elliott Center at HCC. Cost is $79 per person. Group rates are available. 

HCC to name basketball arena after Brown

The Hagerstown Community College Board of Trustees has been studying naming recognitions at the college and has announced its first decision to name the basketball court and adjacent first floor arena space in honor of former athletic director and men’s basketball coach Jim Brown.

HCC will hold its annual faculty art show from Mon., April 8 through Tues., April 23, in the HCC Kepler Center. An opening reception will be held on Sat., April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Free and open to the public.

HCC offers food safety courses

Students in the “Elements of Dramatic Production” class at Hagerstown Community College will perform a free showing of “The Crucible,” from April 4 through April 6, in the Kepler Center at HCC.

This April, students at Hagerstown Community College will exhibit photographic artwork at the Washington County Arts Council, located at 14 West Washington Street in Hagerstown.

Women's History Lunch 'n Learn

The HCC NOW Club will hold a free Lunch 'n Learn on Wed., March 27, from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m., in the Student Center. This session's topic will be Female Leaders at HCC. Students will hear from Dr. Donna Rudy, retired Dean of Students, and Theresa Shank, Dean of Continuing Education and Business Services. Dr. Rudy and Dean Shank will speak about their experiences as female college executive officers.

A free lunch will be provided. All students are welcome.

Young Writers Institute offered this summer

As part of the upcoming HCC Nora Roberts Writing Institute (NRWI) on Aug. 2 and 3, HCC will also offer a special Young Writers Institute for aspiring teen writers entering ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade.
