Disability Awareness Fair

Disability Awareness Fair

A Disability Awareness Fair will be held on Mon., Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Elliott Center, room 212 (Career Programs Building, upper level). HCC's Disability Support Services, Student Government Association, and representative from a variety of campus clubs and community agencies will be on-site to provide information on physical and mental disabilities. Activities, door prizes, and snacks are included.

Student Auditions for 42nd Street

Student Auditions for 42nd Str

Auditions for 42nd Street will be held on Tues., Nov. 19, from 5 to 9 p.m., in the Kepler Theater. Those interested in auditioning should prepare a one minute comedic monologue and 32 bars from a musical theater song. There will be a short dance call, so please bring dance shoes (including tap shoes) if you have them. Please note that there are roles for non-dancers and non-singers also.

Callbacks will be held on Wed., Nov. 20 and rehearsals will be held on Mondays and Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. during the spring semester. The show opens Fri., April 25.

HCC to offer course for pharmacy technicians

Hagerstown Community College will offer a three-credit course for pharmacy technicians, “Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam Review,” on Sundays, from 5 to 8 p.m., beginning Nov. 10 and ending Dec. 15.

Certified tourism ambassador training offered at HCC

Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Business Services Division will hold a half-day training seminar on becoming a certified tourism ambassador on Sat., Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.

Deadline extended for S-STEM Scholarship

HCC students majoring in a STEM-based program (science, technology, engineering, or math) are eligible to apply for a new scholarship. Deadline to apply is Nov. 15 for the spring 2014 semester.

A new exhibit featuring the work of painter Tom Renner will be on display from Oct. 14 through Nov. 14 in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. Free and open to the public.
