Introduction to HVAC/R

Troubleshoot and repair today's HVAC equipment and refrigeration-based processing equipment. Participants will be introduced to concepts of energy, refrigeration, temperature, humidity, and conduction of heat and will be trained in refrigerant handling. There will be overviews of HVAC-related equipment and systems. (Textbook required)

Intro to Alternative Energy

Renewable and alternative energy are options available today for residential and commercial electrical consumers. Understanding which options are available and how they benefit can help you or your organization stay viable in today's global market. Learn the basics about different energy types such as solar, wind, bio-fuel, solar thermal, geo thermal, magnetism, pressure and mechanical energy. Hands-on labs include miniature Wind Turbine Operation, Solar Energy Collection, and Hydro-fuel Vehicle operation. Pre-requisites: strong math and reading skills. (Textbook required)

Solar PV Installer Cert

More and more, solar photovoltaic (PV)systems are being used to produce electricity for homes and businesses. The industry is expected to grow dramatically over the coming years. This course covers all the basics needed to be a successful PV installer. Content includes sizing and designing a system, components of a PV system, the mathematics of PV system design, basic electrical concepts, and more. Two Saturday's included for field activities. Textbook required.

NABCEP Solar Cert. Exam Prep

Review for the NABCEP Entry Level exam and demonstrate your knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation and operation of Solar PV and Solar Heating systems. Class includes a proctored NABCEP Entry Level exam following review session. Note: Candidates must have completed an approved NABCEP 40-hour course such as TRD-023, Solar PV Installer, to qualify for the exam.
