Motorcycle Safety Training Instructor Bios
Motorcycle Safety Instructor since 2009
Ken has been an instructor for a little over a year now. He started riding motorcycles in 1976 but took a break for a few years. Ken got back on in 2003 and has been riding ever since. He's a retired mechanical engineeer, so he's always looking at ways to make things better! Yes, he's wearing a motorcycle helmet running the snowblower - when you see him, ask him why!!
Dale has been riding motorcycles since age 12 and has over 2 million miles' riding experience. His background in motorcycle safety goes back as far as 1975 when he was the Motorcycle Safety Advisory Officer for the Naval Air Station, Norfolk, and Patuxent River, MD.
Motorcycle Safety Instructor since 2010
Shawn has been riding motorcycles for about 40 years. In his spare time (re: full time job) he is a designer/consultant for a stair and railing manufacturer. Shawn is originally from Harrisburg, Pa. and rides a 2007 HD Electric Glide Classic. Shawn is another instructor that likes to take long trips and travel all over USA on his motorcycle and has been an AMA member for 15 years. Shawn is fluent in sign language, so if you are too – strike up a conversation!
Renee has been riding motorcycles since the age of 15 and has been a Rider Coach since 2001, and was one of the first 100 Harley-Davidson Rider's Edge coaches. Being in a family who has moved frequently, she has taught in PA, VA, MD, FL, and AL. You never know who you will run into in the motorcycle industry, and she has seen familiar faces all over the country. Renee enjoys helping new students evolve into riders and loves to see the lightbulbs go off when the students "get it".
