Fundamentals of Electricity
This course has been designed for those students who need an understanding of electrical principles and applications but do not need the theoretical or mathematical depth required for electronic circuit design. Course topics include an understanding of both DC and AC circuits. Lab exercises deal with many of the practical applications of electricity along with learning to use test equipment for the purpose of circuit diagnosis and troubleshooting. (Textbook required)
Electricity: Master Exam Prep
Prepare for the Master Electrician exam offered by the Maryland Board of Master Electricians. The course will cover layout of the National Electrical Code and understanding code terminology including grounding and bonding, minimum required clear working space, and the proper installation of branch circuits, feeders and services. (Textbook required)
NEC 690 for Electrician and Code Officials
Cover the updated 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC) article 690 Solar Photovoltaic (PV) code and gain a better understanding of how renewable energy systems interoperate with electrical systems. Course will guide you through the code for a grid-tied PV system with practical explanations of requirements, including examples of systems and equipment.
