This challenging course is taught over an 8-week period for better retention and skill competency. The National Exam is held on the 9th week. This course is formatted as a 62-hour program and is comprised of 16 hours of lecture, 16 hours of hands on practical training, and a 30-hour internship that networks many graduates right into a job. The course prepares you for success with key topics that include biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, and equipment usage and health assessment. CPR/AED is needed to receive the certificate. W.I.T.S. is the only major certifying body in the country providing comprehensive practical training and internship components. Personal Trainer Certification

Get all the information you need to become a CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER. The course includes 15 hours of "hands-on" practical training preparing you to actually work with clients one-on-one. The course also includes 15 hours of lectures covering anatomy, health screening, exercise physiology, nutrition, muscle and skeletal injuries, etc. Students must pass a written 100 question exam on theoretical issues and pass a one-on-one practical skills exam. The National Exam is held on the 6th and final day of class. Students are required to complete a 30-hour internship within 12 months of passing the final examination. Students need to provide proof of CPR/AED Certification and internship hours before certification will be granted. This course helps you prepare for the National Boards (www.nbfe.org for details). Saturday mornings will be held at the HCC Main Campus. Saturday afternoon classes will be held at a local gym to be announced.
