Papercrafting Series

Join us for a venture into the world of paper crafting. In this series, you will attend two courses to learn how to complete simple but amazing scrapbook layouts, the basics for making wonderful everyday cards and envelopes to give and share, and learn basic stamping techniques for making beautiful holiday cards. You will need to supply on your own and bring to class: Scrapbook layouts (1/21)5-6 sheets of coordinating patterned and solid colored 12 X 12 cardstock, 4-6 pictures you would like to use, paper trimmer, scissors, and adhesive; (3/3) 5-6 sheets of coordinating patterned and solid colored 8 1/2 X 12 inch cardstock, coordinating embellishments to finish your cards, paper trimmer, scissors, and adhesive.

Papercrafting - Scrapbooking 101

Learn how to complete simple but amazing scrapbook layouts in this two-hour class. You will need to bring your own supplies and bring to class: 5-6 sheets of coordinating patterned and solid colored 12x12 cardstock, 4-6 pictures you want to use, paper trimmer, scissors, and adhesive.

Papercrafting - Cardmaking 101

Learn the basics for making wonderful everyday cards & envelopes to give and share. You will need to supply on your own and bring to class: 6-8 sheets white 8 1/2 x11in cardstock, one momento tuxedo black ink pad, 5-6 sheets of coordinating patterned and solid colored 8 1/2 x11in cardstock, paper trimmer, scissors & adhesive, coordinating embellishments to finish your cards.

Beginning Crochet Series

In thisthis introduction to crochet series, you will learn basic stitch techniques necessary to complete a scarf, a hat for adults or children, an infinity scarf, and complete, as well as attach, several granny squares. Each piece will take two weeks to complete. You will need to supply on your own and bring to class: Scarf (1/7-1/14): one skein #4 yarn (approx. 140 yds.), one size k crochet hook, a tape measure, yarn needle, scissors, stick markers and row counter. Hat (1/28-2/4): one skein #4 yarn (approx. 140 yds.), one size K crochet hook, a tape measure, yarn needle, scissors, stick markers, and row counter. Patriotic Wreath (2/18-2/25): three skeins #4 yarn (approx. 140 yds.), one white, one red, one blue, a 12-inch foam wreath form, one size K crochet hook, atape measure, yarn needle, scissors, stick markers,and row counter. Spring Wreath (3/17-3/24):three to five skeins of #4 yarn in assorted spring colors of your choice, 12 inch foam wreath form, one size K, a tape measure, yarn needle,scissors, stick markers, and row counter.

Learn the Heritage Craft of Chair Caning

Learn to repair your rocking chairs, foot stools, and dining room chairs. This course will teach you how to restore these wonderful pieces back to their original woven beauty. You will learn the many hands-on techniques in the weaving process needed to restore the piece back to its original splendor. You will also have the opportunity to create your own woven seat on a small stool or work on an existing project as a way of learning the chair caning techniques. Reward your children and grandchildren with a hand woven gift that will last a lifetime. Materials may be purchased from the instructor. Bring a bucket, scissors, towel, measuring tape, pencil, one dozen clothes pins, and paper to class.
