National Cathedral Highlights Tour & Tea

Our National Cathedral tour and tea will begin with free time to visit the gardens, receive Holy Communion during the Eucharist Service, or take in an organ demonstration on the Cathedral's famous pipe organ featuring 10,650 pipes. We will then join a National Cathedral docent who will guide us through the beautiful Cathedral Highlights tour. Our tour will be followed by a lovely tea served in the St Paul Room of the Pilgrim's Observation Gallery. This is a beautiful wood paneled room with magnificent views of the city. Tea fare includes a delicious array of scones with clotted cream and an assortment of sweets and finger sandwiches. Following our tea we will have an opportunity to do some shopping at the Cathedral Museum & Book Store and Herb Cottage gift shop. Fee includes: transportation on a fully equipped motor coach, gratuity, all entrance fees, and the Tour and Tea. Departure is from the Valley Mall.

Espionage in the City

Join us for a day of secrets and intrigue in Washington, D.C. The suspense begins with a discussion about George Washington and spy activity in the American Revolution, then continues with a docent-led bus tour of sites where spy related activities happened around D.C. (i.e. FBI Headquarters, the old Soviet Embassy, and Watergate, among many others!). After lunch on your own, tour the International Spy Museum's interactive exhibits, including Civil War Spies, D-Day and The Bomb, Red Terror, and Exquisitely Evil: 50 Years of Bond Villains. See "spylights" such as the German enigma machine, the lipstick pistol, an original 1964 Aston Martin DB5, and the spy pigeon. Transportation to and from D.C. and museum entry are included.

Washington, D.C., Genealogy Research Trip

Spend a full day researching your ancestry at either the Daughters of the American Revolution Library or the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Before the trip, you will have an opportunity to discuss your research goals with the instructor, who will make a recommendation as to which resource would be best for you to visit for the day. Lunch is on your own but may be purchased within walking distance of all facilities. Registration includes transportation to and from D.C.

Join your friends as you travel to Washington for a day to relax and explore all your favorite museums on the Mall in complete leisure. HCC's motor coach will drop you off and pick you up at the Smithsonian Castle, allowing for plenty of exploration time in one or more of the historic museums on the Mall or shopping. Fee includes: fully-equipped motor coach transportation and gratuity. Departure is from the Valley Mall.

Rockettes NY Christmas Trip

Continue a cherished family tradition or create a new one. The Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular featuring Rockettes is one of the most iconic and magical shows in the country. Every year, the Rockettes put on a show more dynamic and magical than the last. This trip includes tickets to the show (orchestra seating), a complementary popcorn and drink voucher, and deluxe motor coach transportation. Lunch before and dinner after the 2 p.m. show will be on your own in NYC. (Deaf and hearing families welcome: this show will be interpreted in ASL.) Deaf family please call 240-500-2565 to be seated near the interpreter. Departs Valley Mall at 6 a.m. and returns at 11 p.m. Registration deadline is October 15th.

Colonial Williamsburg Trip

Step back into the 18th century with a day in Colonial Williamsburg! Walk the halls of the Capitol where the colony's representatives discussed the meaning of American liberty, revel in the grandeur of the Governor?s Palace, experience the stark contrasts of freedom and slavery at the Peyton Randolph House, or visit other historic sites of your choosing before enjoying lunch on your own at one of the taverns or cafes. After lunch, local florist Denny Warrenfeltz will give a small, guided tour of Williamsburg?s famed holiday decorations; space is limited. Registration includes motor coach transportation to and from Williamsburg, general admission, and admission to the Governor?s Palace and The Art Museums.

Flight 93 National Memorial and Fallingwater

As the 16th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, pay your respects to the 40 passengers and crew aboard Flight 93 with a visit to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset, P.A. This quiet, intimate memorial site includes a Visitor Center, the Memorial Plaza and final resting place of the passengers and crew, the Wall of Names, the 40 Memorial Groves, and a walking path and wetlands. The King and I

Two worlds collide in Lincoln Center Theater's production of The King and I, winner of four 2015 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Escape with us to The Kennedy Center for a matinee showing of the timeless story of Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam!
