Sign Language for Health Professions

This course is designed to train medical personnel how to communicate with deaf patients through the use of american Sign Language (ASL). Emphasis is placed on enhancing patient care, facilitating registration and dismissal, reducing the Deaf patient’s fear and anxiety, and improving patient involvement in medical procedures. Sign Language Refresher

This is a summer course for beginning to intermediate level sign language students to refresh their signing skills. Students will be exposed to signing in an informal class setting and will review basic skills to stay in practice over the summer. The class will meet for four Tuesdays: 6/17, 7/8, 7/29 and 8/12/08.
