Independence Day - HCC Closed

HCC will be closed for Independence Day on July 3. No classes will be held and all administrative offices will be closed.

HCC closed for Labor Day - Sept. 1

In observance of Labor Day, HCC will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1. No classes will be held on campus and all administrative offices are closed. The college will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Thanksgiving Break - HCC Closed

HCC will be closed for Thanksgiving Break on Nov. 27 and 28, 2014. No classes will be held and all administrative and student support offices will be closed.

A brand new job site is coming to HCC. While that site is under construction, interested applicants can browse current job listings and complete the online job application on the old version of the HCC website. All applicants who file applications during this transition phase are assured full consideration and do not need to apply again when the new job site is launched.

New Hire Forms

Congratulations and welcome to Hagerstown Community College! We are delighted you are joining the HCC organization. In order to expedite the hiring process, please complete all of the required new hire forms. Each form will allow you to type right onto the form and save it to your computer. Once completed, please email the forms directly to or bring completed copies to the HR Office. Please note the following: On the Employment Verification Eligibility I-9 Form, section 1 can be completed now. Section 2 must be completed in-person in the HR Office and you must present original acceptable documentation in order to complete this form. A list of the acceptable documentation is attached below. You must be prepared to present either one document from List A OR one document from List B and one document from List C. For the forms that require a signature at the end, you will have an opportunity to sign these forms when you attend new hire orientation with HR. Performance Assessment

The primary focus of the performance assessment process is communication between supervisors and employees, rather than on administrative requirements. It is a process that provides opportunities for discussions and feedback between employees and supervisors on performance goals and expectations. It is an interactive process. Administered properly, a performance assessment produces a number of benefits: It coordinates employees’ performance with the unit plan goals, HCC’s mission, and strategic goals. It fosters improved and ongoing communications between supervisors and employees about performance expectations and progress. It provides a tool for supervisors and employees to plan and measure performance. It enables supervisors to assist employees in developing skills related to their jobs and improving performance. It assists management in compensation planning and administration. It assists HCC in determining training and professional development needs.
