HCC graduates second class of Police Academy recruits

Hagerstown Community College recently graduated its second class of Police Academy recruits. Following remarks from HCC Police Academy Director David Simonetti, HCC President Guy Altieri, Hagerstown Police Department Chief Mark Holtzman, Washington County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore, and student speaker Jeremy Ziegler, students were awarded certificates to commend their achievement.

HCC student receives Maryland Sheriffs’ Institute scholarship

(January 24, 2005) - Hagerstown Community College student Ray Wharton of Smithsburg was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Maryland Sheriffs’ Institute.

To be considered for the scholarship, students must be in the administration of justice program with an ambition of entering the law enforcement field, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and have sophomore status.
