Student Center

A complete listing of all departments and services located in the Student Center can be found in the Student Center Virtual Tour. The newly renovated Student Center is now open. The Student Center is the focal point of student life on campus. This expanded building offers space for students to dine between classes, meet with their peers, and engage in student activities. It is home to Academic Advising, the Dean of Student Affairs Office, Student Support Services, Student Activities Office, Student Government Association Office, Veterans Connection Center, Hilltop Grill, Hawk Café, a gaming room, the campus store, expanded dining and seating, and a large outside deck with stairs leading to a sand volleyball court.   Academic Advising Academic Advising is located in rooms 116 - 120, to the right of the lobby. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Disability Support Services Disability Support Services is located in rooms 114 and 115, to the right of the lobby. The office is open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Job Training Student Resources (JTSR) Job Training Student Resources is located in rooms 111 and 113, to the right of the lobby. The office is open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Student Activities Office (IDs & Parking Passes) The Student Activities Office oversees all student activities and organizations including the Student Government Association. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is closed on the weekends. At the Student Center Information Desk, students can: Get a student ID card and/or semester stickers Get a campus parking permit Get assistance with student email, WebAdvisor, Moodle and other general information Get fliers and bulletin board notices approved* Pick up a Student Handbook *Note: All fliers and bulletin board content must be approved by the Student Activities Office prior to posting. Information Desk The Student Center Information Desk is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Student Affairs Office The Student Affairs Office houses the Dean of Students and her executive assistant. The Dean's office is located in Room 142, to the left of the lobby. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. TRiO Student Support Services TRiO Student Support Services (TRiO SSS) is designed to help students who are low-income, are a first-generation student, or have a disability. The TRiO SSS office is located in room 131 of the Student Center, to the left of the lobby. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Learn more at www.hagerstowncc.edu/triosss. Other Services Food Services The Student Center’s in-house eatery, The Hilltop Grill, is open Monday through Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Hawk Cafe features a full coffee and latte bar, and also serves assorted desserts and finger foods. It is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m to 8:30 p.m, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Vending machines are available in the Learning Resource Center, on the first floor, and include assorted snacks and drinks, a coffee/hot chocolate machine, and a cold vending machine that features pre-made sandwiches, wraps, and other items. Three of the four machines accept credit cards. (Please note that there is a 10-cent transaction fee to use a credit card.) A lounge area is available in the former Campus Store space to the right of the lobby. Full-service dining, including made-to-order sandwiches and wraps, a full-service salad bar, pizza, and specialty entrees, is available in the Valley Eatery, located in the Career Programs Building. Game Room & Student Lounge The Student Game Room, located in room 160, features a large screen HDTV, Xbox and Wii equipment and games, lounge area, and Wi-Fi. Campus Store (Bookstore) The Campus Store is now open in the Student Center, room 148, across from the Hilltop Grill. The Campus Store is a one-stop shop for students to purchase books, supplies, apparel, backpacks, devices, and more. Campus gear is available for men, women, and children from top brands like Under Armor, Jan Sport, and Champion USA. The Campus Store now features a Tech Bar for customers to preview and purchase laptops/tablets and consult with IT professionals. Student Center Reservations The Student Center has nine areas that can be reserved for events, including five meeting rooms and four open areas. Reserve space online for events using the Student Center Room/Space Request Form.

HCC Veterans Club

Veterans and active duty military personnel at HCC are encouraged to join the HCC Student Veterans Club. The club's mission is to provide a social group that will help veterans adjust, integrate, and become successful in college life; to promote college spirit and to establish and maintain fellowship amongst veterans and non-veterans on campus; to assist with dissemination of valuable information to veterans; to organize worthwhile projects and events pertaining to Veterans needs and issues; all culminating in increased completion of certificate and/or degree programs.
