U.S. Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic performs

Air National Guard Band

The U.S. Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic will perform at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Amphitheater on Wed., June 23, as part of the Sixth Annual Red, White, and Blue Summer Concert Series.

All concerts are free, open to the public, and will be held in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds.

Hagerstown Community College’s music department is hosting a faculty recital on Sun., March 28, beginning at 3 p.m., in HCC’s Kepler Theater.

The event will highlight the recent CD release of Korby Sanders, an adjunct music teacher at the College. Her album, “Winds and Keys” is a collection of classical, romantic, and jazz pieces from a variety of periods. She will be performing with musician Vanessa Candreva, a music teacher at Sewickley Academy in Pittsburgh. Musicians Dave Warner, Paul Melville, Joe Marschner, and Jonas Dawson will also be accompanying.

Hagerstown Community College’s Student Government Association (SGA) is sponsoring “Hawkstock 2010,” a new music concert featuring ten local bands over a two-day period.

Hawkstock 2010 will be held on Fri., March 19 and Sat., March 20, at HCC’s Kepler Theater. On Friday, Fallen Sparrow, Major League, Matinee@Midnight, Skyhawk Drive, and Mayweather will perform. On Saturday, Dimestore Profit, Lucas and the Lovelys, Adam Taylor, Better Without You, and Bring Back All will perform.

Black & White Old Hollywood Student Dance

A student dance will be held on Fri., Feb. 26, starting at 8 p.m., in the Student Center. The theme is Black and White/Old Hollywood. Admission is free for HCC students. Each student is allowed to bring one guest, age 16 or older.

Benefit Variety Show

Hagerstown Community College’s Robinwood Players Theater Club will hold a Benefit Variety Show on Sat., March 6, beginning at 8 p.m. in HCC’s Kepler Theater.

The event will showcase past and present theater club members, as well as various HCC faculty and staff. All proceeds will benefit the Brewer family, who recently lost their home in a fire on Feb. 9. HCC student Chris Brewer is a member of the Robinwood Players Theater Club and his fellow club members wanted to show their support for his family by sponsoring this event.
