Renewable Energy Workshop
February 8, 2014 - 9:00am - 4:00pm

A Renewable Energy Workshop, "Beyond Incentives and Rebates," will be held on Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Brooks Science Complex at Wilson College.

Admission is free for any student with a student I.D. Non-students can pre-register for $20 (includes lunch) or can pay $10 at the door on the day of the workshop (does not include lunch).

Keynote speaker will be John Christensen. Special interest topics include:

HCC's Learning Support Center is offering a document design/essay-writing workshop from 1 to 2 p.m. in the LSC.

Workshop will focus on document design and how to write in MLA, APA, and Chicago styles. Additional topics include selecting the correct font, spacing, margins, headers, and more.

Relay for Life Kickoff

HCC's Student Government Association (SGA) and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society will hold a special kickoff event for Relay for Life of Washington County on Wed., Jan. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Student Center.

This year's theme is "Tailgate for a Cure." Attendees will enjoy tailgating food and snacks (provided by PTK) and will learn about the upcoming Relay for Life event on Fri., April 11, in the ARCC.

The Student Government Association (SGA) and the Campus Safety and Security Study Group will hold an HCC Safety Day on Wed., Jan. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Hilltop Grill (Student Center). All students who attend and complete a safety on campus questionnaire will be entered in a raffle to win a staff campus parking spot for one week.

NOW Club Field Trip

The HCC NOW Club is sponsoring a field trip to the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, Feb. 2.

The bus will leave campus at 10 a.m. and return at 6:30 p.m.This trip is free for HCC students and staff/faculty, but reservations are required. To reserve your seat, email Linda Smith at lmsmith@hagerstowncc.edu. Deadline to register is Friday, Jan. 24.
