Opportunity Fund Scholarship Application
The Opportunity Fund provides financial assistance to students who may not normally qualify for funding based on financial guidelines established by governmental bodies and private foundations. Rather, it is an institutional award that is renewable each semester. Applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of academic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA) in addition to contributing through leadership roles on campus. The Opportunity Fund may also be used for students majoring in one of the many STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs offered at HCC. Preference also is given to those students who need additional funds to attend school on a full-time basis. Applications are reviewed by an internal committee. Applicants must apply for the scholarship each semester. For additional information on the Opportunity Fund, contact the Admissions Office (240-500-2238), the Student Activities Office (240-500-2225) or the Financial Aid Office (240-500-2473).
If you are a new student to HCC and have never attended classes here, please use the New Student Form.
If you have completed a semester or more and are involved in the campus life of HCC, please use the Returning Student Form.
If you are majoring in a STEM Program, please use the STEM Majors Form.
