Supplemental Application for the Practical Nursing Program

Before submitting a supplemental application for a health sciences program, you must first apply for admission to HCC.

The application, all transcripts, and any applicable test scores must be received by the November 1st deadline to be eligible for the program. Program facts: Program begins in May. Notification regarding acceptance into the program is mailed in mid December. Applicants must be a high school graduate or a recipient of a GED. All documentation must be received by the deadline. Applicants will need to have completed or at least be eligible to enroll in BIO 103 Anatomy and Physiology I, ENG 100 Beginning Composition, and PSY 201 General Psychology by the deadline. Completion of MAT 099 is also required or eligibility to enroll in MAT 100 Intermediate Algebra (completion of MAT 100 is not required). For students who meet this criteria, a standardized test will be administered as a part of the selection criteria. A fee is charged for the exam. Study materials are available. Consult with an Academic Advisor for more information regarding the admissions criteria. Information can be accessed in the advisement area. Starting July 16, 2010, all nursing applicants (LPN and RN) must complete the nationally-normed test for nursing students known as the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).
