Before submitting a supplemental application for a nursing program, you must first apply for admission to HCC.
This application, official transcripts from all colleges attended, and official TEAS test results must be received by the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management. Students applying by November 1 will be given first preference into the program. The final admission deadline is April 1. Students completing classes at HCC do not need to submit an official HCC transcript. The first round of program acceptance or denial letters are mailed in mid-to-late January. The second round of acceptance or denial letters are mailed in mid-to-late May.
Program begins in May. Notification regarding acceptance into the program is mailed in mid December. Applicants must be a high school graduate or a recipient of a GED. All documentation must be received by the deadline. Applicants will need to have completed or have in progress BIO 203, have ENG 100 completed or in progress, and have completed MAT 099 or be eligible for MAT 100 (MAT 101 is not required). Students must be ready to take BIO 204 beginning in the summer semester. It is recommended that students have PSY 101 completed by the application deadline. For students who meet this criteria, a standardized test will be administered as a part of the selection criteria. A fee is charged for the exam. Study materials are available. Consult with an Academic Advisor for more information regarding the admissions criteria. Information can be accessed in the advisement area.
