My name is Samba M Jalloh. I am from Sierra Leone, West Africa. I relocated to the United States through a Diversity Visa Program. I was studying Law at the University of London University College. I have executive experience and a real record of accomplishment. I have tackled tough problems and together we will unleash the creativity and initiative of the student body of Hagerstown Community College.

I love to be in the SGA because it gives me tons of reasons to work towards the common goal of keeping HCC students’ community together and sharing likes and dislikes. I also love the excitement of setting up for events and seeing students’ smiles of satisfaction towards the activities. It’s knowing that we are preparing to share and network with all without leaving anyone behind; ensuring the opportunity to meet other students and their needs. For other students to meet us and share their dreams and goals. This is a great family to be part of and it is amazing how much you can learn out of the classrooms when you get together during fun and academic activities. I like the meetings, the workshops, leadership, and the decision making process we are allow to be involved in. Last but not least I love to see how nice this looks in my resume and that I love the diverse community we are a part of!

Senator

Viviana Wamiru – Senator

I am a 19 year old female international student at HCC originally from Kenya in East Africa. I have spent a year on campus and have so far enjoyed my stay and learning experience. I am passionate about leadership, and would like to contribute directly to campus activities that will promote unity, diversity and generally improve student life- from academic to co- curricular activities. I choose to run for senator because by doing so I am challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone and be the change that I would like to see in the college. I aim, as senator, to inspire every student to unearth and make use of their potential during their time as students at HCC and beyond. It would also be an honor to represent the diverse student body and be part of the cooperation between the students and the administration. I value friendships and the bonds created through interactions especially since recently moving to the United States away from most of my family and friends. I enjoy reading books from a wide range of genres and writing poetry. In my free time, I also love to cook and to dance to music from all over the world.
