Substitute Teacher, Children's Learning Center

Education and experience – Six semester hours in child development and activities for early childhood (or the 90 Clock Hour Course) preferred; minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a structured early childhood program; or a combination of experience and college that are equivalent to 1 year. Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate curriculum and positive guidance techniques. Must meet and maintain all qualifications as specified for substitutes by Maryland Office of Child Care. Skills and abilities - ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, children and parents; demonstrates effective and appropriate classroom management and positive guidance techniques, ability to observe and respond to children’s needs, emergencies and/or conflicts; willingness and ability to complete additional training as required.
