HCC will hold its third annual Earth Day Celebration at the fountain in front of the Career Programs Building on Fri., April 22. The presentation will begin at 12 noon. Speakers include HCC President Dr. Guy Altieri and a student member of the Science Club. Adjunct instructors Jennie Avila and Steve Wright will perform. Avila will sing and play the guitar and Wright will play the ceramic drums.

Students in Hagerstown Community College’s Graphic Design Club are partnering with the Blue Ridge AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists) to host an Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5) workshop on Fri., April 8, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.

PTK orientation for new members will be held on Wed., March 2, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Career Programs Building, rooms 211 and 213.

The PTK new member orientation originally scheduled for Tues., Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. has been canceled due to inclement weather. New members are welcome to attend the March 2 orientation, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Career Programs Building, rooms 211 and 213.

HCC’s Mathematics and Science Division will a host a Biotechnology Summer Institute Information Night on Tues., Feb. 1, beginning at 6 p.m., in HCC’s Career Programs Building, room 125.

Hagerstown Community College will host its annual winter student art exhibit from Mon., Dec. 13 through Thurs., Dec. 16, in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.

The winter student art exhibit will feature more than 50 students exhibiting a host of artwork including painting, drawing, mixed media sculpture, ceramic sculpture, pottery, digital photography, and graphic design prints. To be eligible to enter the show, students must be currently enrolled in one of HCC’s art courses, and must also have a coherent body of work to present.

HCC will host a Disability Services Seminar entitled, "Disability Services in College: What You Need to Know to Start Your Path Toward Transition," on Wed., Oct. 27, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The seminar will take place on the upper level of the Career Programs Building, room 213.

On Thurs., Sept. 23, there will be a free showing of "Helvetica," an independent film about typography, graphic design, and global visual culture. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the film will start at 6 p.m. The film will be shown in the Career Programs Building, room 125. Learn more about the film by clicking here.
