Career Programs Building (CPB)

The Hagerstown Community College English Club is offering a workshop entitled, “How to Get Your Fiction Published,” on Mon., Oct. 4, in the Career Programs Building, beginning at 6 p.m.

The annual release party for HCC's Literary Magazine, the Hedge Apple, will be held on Thurs., Nov. 18, in the Career Programs Building, beginning at 6 p.m. Join contributors for pizza, ambiance, and an informal reading of fiction and poetry from the 2010 Hedge Apple. Break-out writing activities will be held after the reading.

This event is free and is open to the public.

Workshop attendees will work step-by-step with the program presenter to develop a simulation module that can be taken back and put into curricula.  The afternoon lab will allow attendees to practice nursing skills using a pediatric and obstetrics simulator.

A lab top is required for this workshop.

A free car wash will be held on Wed., April 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., behind the Career Programs Building. Sponsored by the Theoretical Club.

HCC's annual Earth Day Celebration will be held on Thurs., April 22, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

• 11:45 a.m. - Presentation by Science Club members
• 11:55 a.m. - Song by children from Children's Learning Center

National Nurses Week will be held from May 6 - 12.

National Nurses Week was designed to commemorate the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's work during her assignment during the Crimean War in Turkey. In 1996, the American Nurses' Association designated May 6-12 as the permanent celebration week for nurses because Nightingale's birthday is May 12.

In response to the current economy and high unemployment rates, HCC is hosting several information sessions on Mon., April 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m., to provide the community with information on training the school offers in conjunction with Career Step, a leading online healthcare education company, for careers in the growing healthcare industry.
