Hedge Apple Release Party

Hedge Apple Release Party 2010

The annual release party for HCC's Literary Magazine, the Hedge Apple, will be held on Thurs., Nov. 18, in the Career Programs Building, beginning at 6 p.m. Join contributors for pizza, ambiance, and an informal reading of fiction and poetry from the 2010 Hedge Apple. Break-out writing activities will be held after the reading.

This event is free and is open to the public.

Simulation Workshop: Programming Peds and OB Scenarios

Simulation Workshop
December 3, 2010 - 8:30am - 4:00pm

Workshop attendees will work step-by-step with the program presenter to develop a simulation module that can be taken back and put into curricula.  The afternoon lab will allow attendees to practice nursing skills using a pediatric and obstetrics simulator.

A lab top is required for this workshop.

HCC's annual Earth Day Celebration will be held on Thurs., April 22, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Program Events:

  • 11:30 a.m. - Remarks by Dr. Altieri
  • 11:40 a.m. - Earth Day song performed by Stephen Recker
  • 11:45 a.m. - Presentation by Science Club members
  • 11:55 a.m. - Song by children from Children's Learning Center
  • 12 noon -  Pizza, drinks, and apples on the plaza

National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week will be held from May 6 - 12.

National Nurses Week was designed to commemorate the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's work during her assignment during the Crimean War in Turkey. In 1996, the American Nurses' Association designated May 6-12 as the permanent celebration week for nurses because Nightingale's birthday is May 12.
