HCC will hold its sixth annual Biotechnology Summer Institute (BSI) for high school students from June 16 to August 10, 2014. Student can earn up to seven college credits. Deadline to apply is March 31.
TRiO: Student Support Services (SSS) is looking for new applicants for 2014-2015. TRiO: SSS provides extra support to students who are low-income, are first generation college students, or have a disability.

Hagerstown Community College will hold its Second Annual Nora Roberts Writing Institute (NRWI) in August 2014. This year’s event will be held from Aug. 8-10 and will once again feature two bestselling authors as keynote speakers: Sylvia Day and Hank Phillippi Ryan.
In honor of Irish American Heritage Month, folk artist Christopher James will perform a mix of ballads and work, love, and pub songs on Tuesday, March 4, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Student Center.
The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a one-day Civil War seminar on Sat., March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Elliott Center on the main HCC campus. The seminar is being offered as part of the 150th commemoration of the Civil War.
HCC will hold a special information night for graduating high school seniors enrolling for the 2014-2015 academic year on Wednesday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m., in the Elliott Center. Reserve a seat by March 10.
Spring Break will be held from March 9 through March 15. No classes will be held during that week. Administrative offices will be open from March 10-13, but the entire college will be closed on March 14.
Male and female recruits for the indoor/outdoor track & field team. Students must be full-time (12 credits are more). The organizational meeting, originally scheduled for March 3, will now be held March 4, at 4:15 p.m.
HCC will host the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe on Friday, March 7, beginning at 7 p.m., in the ARCC. Open to students, staff/faculty, and the public. Donations of $1 per person will be collected at the door.
During the month of March, HCC's Learning Support Center will offer a series of student workshops on how to properly cite sources in a research paper. Workshops will be held from March 4 through March 7.
A facilitated discussion, entitled “Overcoming Barriers to Business Entry and Sustainability,” will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Technical Innovation Center (TIC) at Hagerstown Community College.
A special art show featuring work by faculty members at HCC will be on display from February 28 through March 25 at the Washington County Arts Council. An opening reception will be held on Fri., Feb. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m.
