Hagerstown Community College student Jeremiah Sater, of Waynesboro, Pa., recently published his first short story, “Planet 239,” in the online literary magazine The WiFiles.

HCC’s Alumni Association recently announced its concert schedule for the ninth annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series. All concerts are free and are open to the public.   

HCC will hold its 4th Annual Quest for Excellence Nursing Simulation Conference on Tues., June 4 and Wed., June 5, in the Elliott Center on HCC’s main campus.

Hagerstown Community College will host a free bluegrass jam session and open house on Mon., May 13, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.

The Pi Theta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Hagerstown Community College recently received several awards at the Phi Theta Kappa Regional Convention. 

This summer, HCC will offer IST 155 Networking I for Information Systems Technology (IST) students from June 4 through Aug. 12. This class is a hybrid course and will include both online and on-campus components.

HCC will host the annual Public Safety Awards ceremony on Wed., May 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. 

During his visit to Hagerstown over the weekend, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown made a stop at Hagerstown Community College to meet with Western Maryland workforce development representatives to discuss the new Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Program.

On Thurs., May 2, HCC will take part in the first-ever Washington County Gives – A Day of Giving: 24 hours of charitable giving to raise money for local, nonprofit community organizations.
