Cooking Light Series offered at HCC

Hagerstown Community College Center for Continuing Education presents a series of courses in May that addresses the lighter side of cooking. The classes will be taught by Lynn Little, family and consumer sciences educator at the Maryland Cooperative Extension – Washington County Office. Classes will be held in the kitchen/classroom of the Cooperative Extension Service at 7303 Sharpsburg Pike.
Students will learn to put together interesting, nutritious meals for one or two without a lot of work in “Cooking Solo.” Hands-on learning, demonstrations and tasting are included. This course will be held on Tuesday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $35.
“Quick2Fix – Healthy Meals in a Hurry” will show students how to create delicious, healthy meals with a minimum of time and effort, but maximum of good taste and nutrition. The course will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $35.
Students looking for tips on making great-tasting, nutritious snacks will enjoy “Low Fat, High Pleasure Snacks and Desserts” on Tuesday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. The instructor will show how to eliminate or greatly reduce fat, boost nutrition and still enjoy sweets. Cost is $35.
