Parsons attends workshop

Dr. Michael Parsons, professor of sociology at Hagerstown Community College, recently participated in the National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks in American History Workshop entitled “Steel-Making In Cleveland: A Case Study of Industrialization, Immigration, Labor, Race, Ethnicity, and Gender.”

The five-day workshop, taught by top sociologists and researchers from across the nation, focused on technology, geography, labor force and de-industrialization in the 21st century. Parsons will use the material to examine gender in selected manufacturing industries in Washington County. The activity will be part of his Introduction to Sociology course.
