Nurse Refresher Course

Hagerstown Community College offers registered nurses and practical nurses the opportunity to maintain or re-establish an active license during a nurse refresher course starting in September.

The course includes 84 hours of theory and 60 hours of clinical instruction. The theory portion is offered in a distance learning format Mondays and Thursdays beginning September 8 from 6:30 to 10:15 p.m. Topics covered will include delivery of nursing care utilizing the nursing process; performing nursing procedures, including medication administration; caring for patients with various medical and surgical disturbances; and re-integrating oneself into the professional responsibilities of nursing. Cost is $600 for the theory portion and $500 for the clinical.

Registration is requested by August 17 to allow time to complete the necessary paperwork.
