HCC Offers Hypnotherapy Certification Program

Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a certification program in hypnotherapy. Basic level courses begin January 14. Classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays. The curriculum has been approved by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA) and is taught by certified instructor, Laura West, using IMDHA approved materials.
The course concentrates on the how-to aspect of hypnotherapy. Students will be trained to produce the hypnotic state and use it skillfully and effectively.
In the basic level course, students learn the history of hypnosis, how to hypnotize, self hypnosis, therapeutic aspects of hypnosis, how to market your business, and more. The advance level course includes types of suggestions and how to use them, regression, hypnotic anesthesia, introduction to NLP. Students continuing with the hypnoanalysis course will learn specialized regression techniques, methods of release, and dealing with abreactions.
At the completion of all basic level, advanced level and hypnoanalysis courses, a total of 150 hours, students will be eligible for the examination to become a certified hypnotherapist.
