LAN Gaming Marathon

They’ve been called geeks, nerds, and techies, but on February 4 the computer-addicted masses have the chance to show how good they are at Hagerstown Community College’s LAN Gaming Marathon. Featuring a high speed LAN and head-to-head competition, the 12-hour marathon will be held at HCC Continuing Education’s Valley Mall satellite center from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Multi-player games have become very popular with the growth of the Internet and local area networks (LAN’s). The marathon capitalizes on the genre’s popularity and provides an opportunity for gamers to meet other players and share competition as well as strategy.

The fee for the LAN Gaming Marathon is $14. Participants can register at HCC’s Valley Mall center or the main campus. Registering for the event can also be completed over the phone via credit card by contacting the Continuing Education’s registration desk at 301-790-2800, ext. 236.

For more information, contact event coordinator Jack Drooger at 301-790-2800, ext. 453 or e-mail
