Kreykenbohm lecture features actor Matthew Sincell
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Tue, 04/04/2006 - 12:00am
Hagerstown Community College presents the 18th Annual Kreykenbohm Lecture, “An Evening with Matthew Sincell,” on Monday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in Kepler Theater. The event is free and open to the public.
Sincell is in residence at Shenandoah Shakespeare's American Center - Blackfriar's in Staunton, Virginia. He holds a BFA in acting from West Virginia University and also trained with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company in New York City. In 2004, he was selected as one of only two Americans to be an International Artist-in-Residence at the Globe Theatre, London. Sincell has also appeared in films such as “The Man Who Stole the Moon” and “Gods and Generals.”
This year’s lecture coincides with HCC’s Faculty Art Show. Photography, painting, ceramics and digital art from 11 artists who teach at HCC will be displayed in the Kepler Theater lobby. A reception for Mr. Sincell and the faculty artists will follow the lecture. Refreshments will be available.
The lecture series is named after Helen Kreykenbohm, a retired professor and former humanities division chair at HCC. For information on the lecture, contact Ann Clark at 301-790-2800, ext. 306.
