Fourth Annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration held

Hagerstown Community College and the Herald-Mail Company will sponsor the fourth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Monday, January 15, at 10 a.m. in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center at HCC. The theme of this year’s program is “Unity in Diversity.”

Students, staff and faculty are involved in planning this event, which is free and open to the public. The celebration will begin with activities for elementary, middle, high school and college students. Following several speakers, the Reverend Darin Mency of the Greater Campher Temple will perform a dramatic rendition of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. The event will also include musical selections, Black Achievers presentations and a luncheon.
