New seminar focuses on the Art of Schmooze Seminar

Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a new seminar in April that focuses on sharpening communication skills and becoming a comfortable conversationalist and better public speaker. The seminar will be held Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the HCC Valley Mall Center.
The program is taught by author, professional speaker and communications trainer Beth Mende Conny. Her books, “The Confident Schmoozer” and “What to Say When Talking to Yourself” are designed to give professionals the confidence-building and interpersonal skills vital to strengthening customer relationships, fostering team spirit, and fast-tracking career goals. Students will receive both books if they participate in the morning session of the seminar.
The morning session, titled “The Art of Schmooze,” is designed to help students identify their strengths, learn to build conversational bridges, and discover how to put others at ease. Students will also learn how to influence others in both their personal and professional lives.

The afternoon session, titled “Become a Confident Public Speaker,” will teach students simple techniques for speaking with confidence, how to prepare for presentations, and how to deliver remarks in informative, engaging and inspirational ways.
Cost for the day-long seminar is $60. Sessions may be taken separately for $45 each. Class size is limited to 30. To register, call HCC’s Center for Continuing Education at 301-790-2800, ext. 236, or visit:
